EU Funding Programmes

One of the NCC-EE tasks include promoting the participation in EU-funded cybersecurity projects, offering technical assistance during project applications and facilitating collaboration within the local and international cybersecurity community.

EU funding opportunities

Funding and collaboration opportunities for cybersecurity-related projects are offered by the “Digital Europe” and “Horizon Europe” programmes, as well as the European Defence Fund.

Digital Europe Programme

European Union funding programme focused on bringing digital technology to businesses, citizens, and public authorities.

The Digital Europe Programme finances projects in five key areas:

  • supercomputing,
  • artificial intelligence,
  • cybersecurity,
  • advanced digital skills,
  • widening the use of digital technologies.

Horizon Europe Programme

The goal of this programme is to strengthen the EU’s scientific and technological base, including developing solutions to address policy priorities such as the green and digital transitions. The programme also supports achieving sustainable development goals and boosting competitiveness and economic growth.

Horizon Europe is the EU's flagship initiative supporting research and innovation, from ideas to market.

European Defence Fund

The European Defence Fund supports collaborative cross-border research and development in the defence sector.

Complementing and amplifying the efforts of the member states, the fund promotes collaboration among EU companies and researchers of all sizes and locations. It further expands the technological and industrial capacity of the European defence sector, developing industrial skills, competencies, and the innovative potential of the European industry.

RIA Micro-Brokerage Event: Post-Quantum Special

The RIA Micro-Brokerage event took place alongside the Future Cryptography Conference dedicated to post-quantum cryptography.

During the conference the participants got an introduction to the Horizon Europe call "Post-Quantum Cryptography Transition" and after the conference a pitching session and networking cocktail was organised by RIA to bring together interested parties.

Programme

13:10 Ioannis Askoxylakis (European Commission) will give an Introduction to the Horizon Europe call “Post-Quantum Cryptography Transition” during the Future Cryptography Conference.

16:30 RIA will facilitate a pitching session where you are invited to present your project ideas or participate.

17:30 Networking cocktail - Connecting with potential consortium partners, expressing interest in joining a consortium, or exploring opportunities to merge similar project ideas.

The programme of the RIA Micro-Brokerage Event was held at the same venue as the conference.

The Micro-Brokerage event was co-funded by the European Union and the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre.

Pitching session

Interested participants had the possibility to present their project ideas in a pitching session.

The instructions were as follows:

  • Participants are invited to send their pitch slides by May 6th 2024 to [email protected]. When the pitch slides are received, you will get a confirmation email within a couple of business days.
  • The slides should include the name of the presenter and the organisation, summary of the project idea and the description of the consortium partners you are looking for. Pitch Presentation Template
  • We accept one project idea per pitch. Should the participant have several project ideas, then separate sets of pitching slides are expected.
  • Pitching slides, sent after the deadline, can be considered if we have spare time left in the pitching session.
