The state will organise a competition to find good e-services

The competition to determine the best e-services, is open for applications and welcomes e-services of companies and organisations, as well as private, public and third sector e-services created by private individuals.

The main prize of the competition is the title “The Best Estonian e-Service 2015”. In addition, the Estonian judging panel will award special prizes to e-services developed by companies, public sector, and the civil society.

According to Aet Rahe, the chairperson of the judging panel, the e-service competition is the highest national recognition to domestic service developers. “With this competition, the state wishes to draw attention to important values that can be created in the society by e-services,” she said.

Participation is open to public and actually used services that employ electronic channels. Services created on narrow mobile platforms are not eligible. The judging panel will assess the importance, quality, comfort, international potential, social and economic benefit and the substantive and technical novelty of each competing e-service.

Along with Rahe, the judging panel includes Tõnu Runnel, a designer and entrepreneur; Hille Hinsberg, a civil society expert; Rain Rannu, an entrepreneur; Katri Ristal, the representative of World Summit Award in Estonia; Anto Veldre, an analyst at the Information System Authority; and Janek Rozov, the Head of the Department for Information Society Services of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications.
Among of the competitors, those services will also be selected that will represent Estonia at World Summit Award, the international competition recognising creative use of digital media.
