We develop and manage secure data exchange (X-Road, document exchange) between institutions, an overview of state information systems and data (RIHA), the use of electronic identity, the functioning and protection of the state broadband network, organisation of e-elections, the activities of the State Portal eesti.ee, and the work of the ID card help centre.
We are developing cyber security strategies and policies. We coordinate the safe implementation of IT infrastructures important for the state and conduct supervision. We monitor the Estonian computer network and solve cyber incidents.
RIA is an implementing entity of the structural assistance of the European Union. RIA mediates the funding from the EU intended for developing the information society: organising application procedures, receiving project proposals, and consulting the applicants and receivers of the funding.
Additionally, RIA also receives a structure funding. The authority implements the support scheme Raising Public Awareness about the Information Society, and many other projects for developing the state information system and cyber safety.
The support scheme Raising Public Awareness about the Information Society organises the events and information projects of RIA, and commissions analyses and instruction materials.
