ISKE - three-level IT baseline protection system.
The goal of ISKE implementation is to ensure the security level sufficient for the data processed in IT systems. The system is mainly designed for IT systems used to administer state and local administration databases and to guarantee the security of the related IT assets. The necessary security level is achieved by implementing the standard organizational, staff, infrastructural and technical security measures. The manual describes three protection levels – Low (L), Medium (M) and High (H).
The production and development of ISKE has been based on the IT Baseline Protection Manual (IT-Grundschutz Handbuch) issued by Germany’s BSI (Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik or Federal Office for Information Security).
According to the Government of the Republic Regulation no. 273 of 12 August 2004 “Implementing IT protection means system”, ISKE is compulsory for administrators of state and local administration databases.
The first version of the ISKE implementation manual was completed by October 2003. 2008 saw the publication of the fourth version of ISKE.
